Three-phase brushless DC and permanent-magnet synchronous motors are becoming the preferred choice
for designing modern battery-powered motor products. The main applications include cordless power tools
and gardening items, drones, e-bikes, and autonomously guided vehicles. These three-phase motors are
difficult to control. Both motors are commutated sequentially by power switches (MOSFETs) as opposed
to mechanical brushes in contact with the rotor. The system’s capacity to measure the rotor’s location is
a crucial component of this control strategy. Moreover, in these sorts of applications, the intention of the
end user is to have devices that are smaller, lighter, and have a longer battery life. In this issue, Maurizio
