The AC/DC power supply, also known as AC/DC converter, is an essential component of many electronic applications, including consumer electronics, industrial, robotics, medical, and military ones. In this issue, we analyze the main issues engineers face when designing an AC/DC power supply PCB, such as signal integrity, power line integrity, electromagnetic interference, output voltage stability, and thermal management. Moreover, we look at a full bridge based VHFI for electrosurgery. A 390 kHz output frequency experimental setup based on a 300 W gallium nitride high electron mobility transistor (GaN HEMT) device has been developed to test the viability of the VHFI. Other topics are SiC-based solar inverters, integration architectures, and EV batteries.
