The automotive industry is undergoing a sea change from the internal combustion engine (ICE) to an all-electric future. During CES there were important news. Automotive electrification is transforming the automotive industry, and consumers are increasingly demanding vehicles that can charge faster and drive further. As a result, engineers need to design compact, lightweight systems without compromising vehicle performance. GaN and SiC are proving to be real added values in meeting new applications. New updates in electric vehicle (EV) battery management systems (BMS) were released during CES 2021. Wireless battery management systems (wBMS) has a pivotal role in the powering process of electric vehicles. With e-mobility becoming increasingly important, environmentally friendly battery technology is no longer an option but a necessity.  In addition to high performance, batteries must also meet stringent safety requirements.
